Recently, team members from Woodberry headed out to visit a handful of wineries in Napa Valley, California to better understand the region, our suppliers, and what makes them so special. They traveled to Hill Family Estate, David Arthur Estate, Oakville Ranch, Hudson Ranch Vineyards, Materra-Cunat Family Vineyards and the Keenan Winery. The members at each of these wineries were friendly and informative as they explained their techniques for wine production and offered explanations about specific wines that were being sampled. Our team continues their education on wine, and had a blast tasting delicious wines from these wineries!
Four Outstanding Napa Valley Wineries
The David Arthur Estate is situated on Pritchard Hill, one of Napa Valley’s highest elevation vineyards. Pritchard Hill has quickly become one of Napa’s most popular wine destinations. Woodberry has 5 wines from the David Arthur Estate; Proprietary Red, Cabernet Sauvignon Elevation 1147, Cabernet Sauvignon Thee Acre, Chardonnay, and Meritaggio.
For decades, the Hill Family vineyards have produced high quality grapes for some of Napa’s most exquisite wineries. Woodberry has 4 wines from the Hill Family Estate; Cabernet Sauvignon, Barrell Red Blend, Chardonnay Carly’s Cuvee, and Sauvignon Blanc.
The Oakville Ranch has a large selection of wines that can be tasted year round. Woodberry has 4 wines from the Oakville Ranch; Red Wine – O – Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc.
The Hudson Ranch was founded by winemakers Lee and Christina Hudson and was founded in 1981. Woodberry has 3 wines from Hudson Ranch; Chardonnay, Syrah, and a Phoenix.
At the Keenan Winery, they use solar power to help run their vineyard and are sustainably farmed in the Spring Mountain district. The Hudson Ranch was founded by winemakers Lee and Christina Hudson and was founded in 1981. Woodberry has 8 wines from Keenan Winery; Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel, Chardonnay DAC Blend, Cabernet Franc, Mernet, Merlot Mailbox Reserve, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
I know it sounds cliche’, but we really do have some of the best clients ever! One thing’s for sure – it was a great experience for the Woodberry team. Our team was able to get a better understanding of all that goes into making wine and we loved it. We’re all looking forward to our next winery excursion!
