Throughout Michigan, one of the great things that Woodberry Wine does is host trade tastings that allow restaurants and retailers to explore and experience the magnificent portfolio we offer. In doing so, it has given me a terrific opportunity to meet many of our valued customers and prospective customers, whom I can’t thank enough for their continued support for our company.
In the past six months alone, Woodberry Wine has held trade shows in Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Port Huron, Lansing, Flint, Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, Ferndale, and Detroit. The events have sometimes focused exclusively on specific varietals like dry French Rosés, regions like Burgundy or Bordeaux, and for some events, we have simply provided a broad representation of our extensive portfolio of wines from all over the world. I consistently hear from our customers how much they value the opportunity to educate themselves on the wines, and I’m impressed with how seriously they take the opportunity. Our team is first and foremost educators, sharing their knowledge and passion for wine. It is a true pleasure to watch how well our entire staff collaborates from cities all over Michigan supporting each other’s customers.
Just recently, one of our customers was studying for his Sommelier exam. He said that his ability to taste through the high caliber wines in our portfolio filled with the great representations of the world’s varietals and blends helped him immeasurably achieve his goal. At Woodberry Wine, we believe that the more we can add value to our customers and to their businesses, the more successful we will be, so helping this newly minted Sommelier was something that we all take pride in.
Putting together a successful trade show takes a lot of coordination and teamwork, and of course, they can be expensive. Wines are carefully chosen by the staff and certified Sommeliers, information sheets are prepared, the venue is chosen to provide the best environment for you, and volunteers are recruited to support the event. For us, trade shows are a part of how we build relationships with our customers, which is one of the best parts of our business.
Our goal is to complete 5 wine themed trade shows each quarter, and they are often attended by representatives of our importers including Kindred Vines Import Co, Vineyard Brands, VinoVi & Co, and Hand Picked Selections, as well as the winemakers themselves. If you haven’t been to one of our trade shows, please refer to the event page on our website at and plan on attending one soon. I am sure you will be glad you did, and I will look forward to meeting you!
