The 4th annual performance of the Art & Wine Dinner at Victoria’s Wine & Dine in Oxford, Michigan took place on Sunday, June 8th. Chef and owner Victoria Connelly, and Woodberry Wine Partner/Sommelier Michael Cregar make original, and as much as possible, locally produced art selections from Merge Gallery in downtown Oxford. There is a cooperative synergy that takes place between the two local businesses involved.
At the dinner, guests were treated to an explanation of the art piece by a gallery representative, then Chef Victoria explains the course she prepared for the artwork, why and what influenced her creative thinking in the pairing. Michael then explains how he selected the wine to pair with the art and menu. The wine region, producer and wine style is explained to the guests.
Victoria and her amazing staff served 5 courses, paired with art and wine. The evening concluded with all the guests taking a short walk down to the art gallery to have a final wine – – something sparkling to help lift the palette.
Victoria’s Wine & Dine has been in the same location for 17 years in downtown Oxford. She does monthly wine dinners and has a very loyal following who appreciate her French & Italian inspired restaurant. Last year, the owner of Merge Gallery said it was her single largest day of sales.
