More about this Producer
Started as a personal project 10 years ago and with its first vintage in 2009, Podere Giodo is a small and exclusive production of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, sold primarily in North America and Northern Europe.
In his 7 acres of vineyard, Ferrini planted 15 different clones of Sangiovese, which he selected throughout his entire career for their unique qualities and low yields. Ferrini farms organically and green harvests to reduce yields. His wine making style is gentle, with short macerations, use of ambient yeasts, and no pump-over.
This discreet, small production is still a secret jewel among popular players of modern Tuscan wines.
Created by the famous and talented Tuscan enologist Carlo Ferrini, Podere Giodo is located in the heart on the Montalcino region, right outside the medieval hamlet of Sant’Angelo in Colle.
