This lovely pale yellow, bright and clear Picpoul is brought to us from Domaine Haut Bridau, part of the Les Viognobles Foncalieu family of wines. It has a fruity and floral nose with hawthorn and lime tree fragrances. Lively and fresh in the mouth, it provides harmonious acidity and roundness. Try as an apertif, with paella, and other seafood dishes.
Known since the 14th century, the Picpoul grape variety (Picpoul de Pinet Appellation of Southern France) has always been synonym of quality. The production is limited to the 1268 hectares of the appellation and makes the Picpoul de Pinet a rare wine.
Stretching along the Thau lagoon to the west of the Mediterranean’s Golfe de Lyon lies the largest white wine producing area in the Languedoc : the Picpoul de Pinet terroir It consists of a triangle bounded by Agde, Pézenas and Sète : a limestone plateau basking in the rising sun covered in highly perfumed garrigue, rows of vines, and scattered pine groves.
